The Receipts!

Iranian officials  demanded receipts.  A U.S. journalist spent five days covering the Iranian parliamentary elections, and when held for questioning as her stay ended, all they were after were her receipts.

With those receipts, Laura Secor, unknowingly, would have been able to document the inflation taking hold in Iran as a result of international sanctions.

They didn’t confiscate her notebook, her voice recorder, or harass her about her sources.  They were worried about the receipts.
